VOLUNTEER SUPPORT STAFF

Federation Appoints its first volunteer Chief Internal Auditor

The roots and strength of The Kenya National Children Games Federation depends on Volunteers it recruits, and without whose support most of our programs would be rendered almost useless and impossible. The Federation offers many important and interesting opportunities for the involvement of volunteers.

In this respect, The Federation, in line with its policy in practicing, demonstrating and encouraging Transparency, Accountability and Honesty within its entire management system, has appointed Mr. Charles Abwanda as its first volunteer Chief Internal Auditor, w.e.f 1stNovember, 2006.

Mr. Abwanda brings with him well over 15 years working experience from World Vision International-Kenya, where he voluntarily left as Director of Audit. While with World Vision, one of the world’s most respected non-governmental organization, Mr. Awanda traveled widely in Kenya and across the world auditing the organization’s development projects.

Previously, before joining World Vision International, he had worked with two external audit firms as Audit Manager and also he had worked The Kenya Police as a special police where also voluntarily left in the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), specialized in Forensic Investigations and Anti-Fraud within the Banking industry.

The Kenya National Children Games Federation is, therefore, given this experience, having high expectations from Mr. Abwanda and hopes he will truly bring with him this experience to help develop this organization to the required standard, placing it in the position of  one of the most honest, transparent and accountable organizations not only in Kenya, but also worldwide. You can always reach Mr. Abwanda on telephone +254 722 728650 or e-mail: cabwanda@childrengameskenya.org .

To Mr. Charles Abwanda, this Federation warm heartedly welcomes you in performing this enormous task of streamlining its finances to the successful end and required standard.

Welcome, and Congratulations, Charles!

In line with one of our major objectives and policy in involving and promoting youth sports, creative arts and culture and education to all children in the country irrespective of their statues and position in life, This Federation do hereby appoint Mr. Thomas Akendo as its volunteer Program Coordinator w.e.f 15thOctober, 2006. He will be responsible for fundraising for, and organizing all activities related to the less privileged, orphaned and rehabilitation children centers. This would include reducing the high influx of street children, countrywide. And all this he is expected to do through sports and creative arts and culture.

Mr. Thomas, a Diploma holder in Social Studies, previously worked with Street Families Rehabilitation Fund, a department of Nairobi city council that was charged with the duties of helping reduce the high influx of street children within the capital city’s streets.
